Renewable Energy:

Most power produced in the United States
comes from the burning of fossil fuels such as petroleum and
coal. These conventional methods of energy production release
vast amounts of carbon and other dangerous chemicals into the
atmosphere and are a major catalyst for global climate change.
Other energy sources such as nuclear power possess a potential
for great health risks if they are not properly managed.
Renewable energy resources, such as
hydro-electric, and biofuels (bio-diesel and ethanol for
example) are providing alternatives to cope with diminishing
quantities (and rising prices) of fossil fuels, but still
release great amounts of carbon into the atmosphere or cause
damage to natural ecosystems. The cleanest source of renewable
energy available in the United States is Wind Power!!
Being based on the edge of the Great
Plains, along Colorado’s Front Range (the Studio looks
out onto breathtaking views of Rocky Mountain National Park),
we are blessed with great winds — think O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A!
— and the ample availability of wind power. A large wind
farm, situated just north of the Colorado-Wyoming border
provides us with a clean, renewable source of energy.
The Archibald Design Studio participates in
the City of Loveland’s Greenswitch program, where we
purchase multiple blocks of 100 kilowatt hours of wind power to
more than cover our current consumption, helping us to become
even greener.
